Overview

Whenever an error is encountered by the application, an error page is presented that shows the related error message. If an error occurs, you may always use your browser's back button to back up to the previous page, correct any data entry errors, and retry the operation. If an interaction produces a repeatable failure, it may be necessary to seek help or report the problem.

Error pages will include a note or link at the bottom that indicates what to do to report your problem.

Helpful Hints

Consider the following regarding errors:

• If the network or server is down or unavailable, the application will be unavailable until these resources are properly functional.
• One should be careful when entering data values into text fields. Generally, text should be left aligned and should not contain excessive spaces (blank characters actually typed into the field) to the left or right of entered data.
• When errors are presented for a page that can affect updates to more than one record, each record update that caused an error will be presented. In this situation the update will be performed as an all or nothing transaction; so, either all requested changes will be made, or none of the requested changes will be made.
